A Surrey, BC family care company, built on employed caregivers
Puffin Services is a family care company based in Surrey, BC, run by Puffin Enterprises Ltd. We provide in-home care across 16 municipalities in the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley under an Intermunicipal Business Licence: postpartum and newborn support, childcare for ages 0–12, event nannies, and Health Care Assistant and companion care for adults and ageing parents. In-home respite for autistic children is arranged directly, pediatric therapy is in development, and nanny placement across British Columbia is coming soon.
How Puffin is set up
- Caregivers are employees. Every hourly caregiver is employed by Puffin and has a clear police vulnerable sector check before a first shift. WorkSafeBC coverage and commercial general liability insurance are held by Puffin.
- Prices are published. One price list, the same for every family, on every rate.
- Booking is online. Choose the service and hours and confirm on the site; your card is held and charged after the shift, and cancelling 24 hours or more ahead is free.
- Placement works differently. When it opens, Puffin runs the search and the checks, and the nanny you hire becomes your family’s employee — so the employer’s obligations, and the insurance, sit with you rather than with Puffin.
Lifecycle care
The only employed-caregiver, flat-rate lifecycle care company in the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley.
By that we mean three things together: every hourly caregiver is a Puffin employee; one published price list, the same for every family — no quotes, no membership, and no per-child fee for in-home childcare; and care from a newborn’s first weeks, through childhood, to care for ageing parents — with in-home respite for autistic children arranged directly, and pediatric therapy in development.
