Where we work in Langley
Coverage is the whole of Langley, and it does not matter which of the two municipalities your address falls in. Willoughby and Walnut Grove are where most of Langley's newer family housing has gone, and hourly childcare and after-school pickup there are booked exactly as they are in Downtown Langley, Nicomekl, Douglas or Simonds. Fort Langley, Murrayville and Brookswood are older and more spread out; Milner and the countryside toward Aldergrove more so again, and a standing weekly booking at a rural address costs the same as one on the Langley Bypass. All are served at the same rates, with no travel surcharge between them and no surcharge for rural addresses.

Langley is two municipalities and one search. Families in the City of Langley and across the Township — Willoughby, Walnut Grove, Fort Langley, Aldergrove, Brookswood, Murrayville — are served identically, and a caregiver can easily work across both. The Township’s spread is the practical factor: a Willoughby placement and an Aldergrove placement are twenty minutes apart, which is well within a candidate’s daily range, so the search area is genuinely both rather than nominally both.

One difference worth being clear about: a placed nanny becomes your family’s employee, not Puffin’s. Puffin runs the search, the vulnerable sector checks and the reference verification, and then steps out of the relationship. That is the opposite of our hourly childcare, where the caregiver stays a Puffin employee and Puffin carries the insurance and payroll — two different products, two different answers to "who is the employer".

Hourly childcare starts at $32/hr for children 12 months and over, $38/hr where a child under 12 months is present, $36/hr for after-school pickup and care, and $36/hr overnight between 10:00 PM and 6:00 AM, all with a three-hour minimum. Nanny Placement, coming soon, will be a one-time fee of $500 under three months or $1,000 for three months or longer. There is no zone pricing, no travel surcharge and no downtown premium — a family here pays what a family in Hope or Vancouver pays.
