These are the published rates across all 16 municipalities Puffin Services is licensed for. There is no zone pricing and no travel surcharge — a booking in Hope costs what a booking in Vancouver costs.
The same price for one child or four
In-home childcare is priced by the hour, not by the child. There is no per-child fee and no sibling uplift — the rate depends on the time of day and whether a child under 12 months is present, and on nothing else.
No booking fee, no membership
You pay for the hours you book and nothing else. There is no joining fee, no monthly membership and no minimum number of bookings — a single evening works exactly the same way as a standing weekly slot.
How long bookings are staffed, and when overtime applies
One caregiver covers up to 8 hours. Longer bookings are staffed by two or more in sequence, and a booking those caregivers cover between them carries no overtime at all — so a 12-hour booking costs less than an 11-hour one. Only the hours past what they cover bill as overtime, at 1.5x the rate those hours would otherwise be charged at. Overnight hours (10:00 PM – 6:00 AM) carry the overnight rate, so overtime worked overnight is 1.5x the overnight rate. It works the same way for childcare, postpartum support and senior and adult support, and you will see it itemised in your price breakdown before you pay.

The pattern repeats: every further 8 hours adds a caregiver, the 3 hours past each of those adds overtime, and the hours after that are overtime-free again. Caregivers work in sequence, one at a time — a longer booking is not a bigger bill per hour, and the hourly rate never changes because of how many people cover it.
