About this care

A dedicated overnight postpartum support worker handles all nighttime newborn care from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM — feeding, diapering, soothing, and settling — so the recovering mother can sleep uninterrupted. This is one of the most powerful forms of postpartum support: true rest is foundational to physical and emotional recovery. Can be booked as individual nights or combined with daytime packages.

Overnight Postpartum Care Questions

Questions about Overnight Postpartum Care

Online, start to finish, at whatever hour suits you. Choose the service, the city, the date and the hours, tell us anything specific about your family, and pay on the site — there is no phone call, no callback and no waiting on a quote before you know the price. Hourly childcare, postpartum support, senior and adult support and event nannies all work this way, and nanny placement will too once it opens. Pediatric support is the exception: SLPA, OTA, behaviour intervention and autism respite are enquiry-only for now, and those pages say so. A phone line is there if you would rather use it — (604) 283-2829 — but nothing requires it.

Postpartum support is $38 an hour during the day and $42 an hour overnight, between 10:00 PM and 6:00 AM, with a three-hour minimum per shift. There is no package to buy into and no minimum number of visits — families book a single afternoon or several nights a week, and the rate is the same across all 16 municipalities we serve.

Yes — overnight postpartum support is what most families mean by a night nanny. A support worker is in your home between 10:00 PM and 6:00 AM at $42 an hour, handling night feeds, settling and nappy changes so you can sleep. There is a three-hour minimum per shift, and it can be booked for a single night or for several nights a week.

It is the same idea, but the title matters. Puffin Services provides trained postpartum support workers and doulas, not registered nurses — so "night nanny" or "overnight postpartum support" describes it accurately and "night nurse" does not, even though families often use the terms interchangeably. If your situation needs clinical nursing care, we will say so rather than take the booking.
